Why This Moment Matters: More Than Just a Launch The upcoming July 27 launch signifies far more than simply making products available for purchase. It represents the extensive journey of conceptualizing, testing, and refining every element of the Upsensed experience. From the delicate art of fragrance creation to the tactile quality of our packaging, each decision has been made with intention and care. Our core philosophy is rooted in the understanding that our homes are our sanctuaries, our personal canvases. We wanted to create a home fragrance collection that enhances, rather than dictates, the mood of these spaces. This launch is the embodiment of that vision – a carefully curated selection of luxury candles and other home fragrance essentials designed to be seamlessly integrated into your daily rituals, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. The process has been a labor of love, involving countless hours dedicated to understanding the nuances of scent profiles, the science behind wax performance, and the aesthetics of design. We believe that exceptional home fragrance should be both accessible and luxurious, offering a touch of everyday indulgence that elevates your surroundings. Crafting the Signature Upsensed Candle Collection At the heart of our initial offering is our debut candle collection, featuring six distinct fragrances meticulously developed to evoke specific moods and atmospheres. This commitment is deeply embedded in our brand's ethos, stemming from a personal journey of discovering the profound impact of scent and the simple joy of candle-making. This contribution reflects our dedication to supporting mental well-being, aligning with our mission to create spaces that promote comfort and peace. Our brand is rooted in mental health advocacy and education.  As a nurse-owned brand, we care deeply about the connection between environment, emotion, and everyday well-being. Whether someone is winding down at home, rebuilding a sense of calm after a stressful day, or looking for supportive resources around anxiety, we believe small moments of care matter. Behind the Scent: Developing the First Upsensed Candle Collection
The candle-making process feels almost impossible to explain until you’ve experienced it. It happens somewhere between the first fragrance blotter, the first pour, and the first burn test. A scent starts as an idea... a mood, a memory, a feeling you want to return to, and slowly, it becomes something physical. Something that changes the atmosphere of a room. That is the heart of Upsensed. Before we ever thought about vessels, labels, wax blends, or launch timelines, we thought about how fragrance makes people feel. Not in a surface-level way, but in the way scent can shift your energy before you even realize it. A soft floral can make a room feel more open. A warm wood note can make an evening feel grounded. A touch of citrus can wake up the senses. Musk can make a space feel intimate, lived-in, and luxurious. To understand the deeper purpose behind the brand, read more about why Upsensed was created and how the idea grew from a love of fragrance, intention, and everyday luxury. Our first candle collection is being built around that idea: home fragrance as an intentional ritual, not just a decorative object. We want to bring you behind the scenes of how the first Upsensed candle collection is coming together — from fragrance testing and scent curation to wax selection, burn performance, label design, and the emotional inspiration behind each scent. Before a candle becomes part of your home, it spends a long time becoming what it is. Starting With Feeling, Not Just Fragrance Notes When developing the first Upsensed candle collection, we didn’t start by asking, “What scents are popular?” We started by asking better questions. What does stillness smell like? What scent feels like walking into a clean, sunlit room after a mental reset? What fragrance would make an evening feel slower, warmer, and more sensual? What kind of candle belongs in a quiet Sunday routine? That approach matters because fragrance is personal. A candle is not just wax and oil. It becomes part of someone’s morning routine, their bath, their bedside table, their work-from-home setup, their dinner party, their decompression ritual, their reset after a long shift. For Upsensed, scent development begins with the mood first. That means each candle in the collection has to do more than smell good. It has to hold a point of view, belong to a specific emotional space, and feel intentional. The goal is not to make every candle appeal to everyone in the exact same way. The goal is to create a collection with range, so each scent can meet a different moment. That is the foundation of our first collection. The Wax: Why We Chose Coconut-Apricot Wax A beautiful fragrance deserves a beautiful burn. For our first candle collection, we chose coconut-apricot wax because it aligns with the kind of candle experience we want Upsensed to be known for: smooth, elevated, clean-feeling, and luxurious. As we developed the first Upsensed collection, creating clean-burning candles was just as important as designing fragrances that felt modern, refined, and memorable. Coconut-apricot wax has a creamy appearance and is often loved for its ability to hold fragrance beautifully while creating a soft, even melt pool when properly wicked and tested. It gives the candle a polished finish that supports the visual identity of the brand while also helping deliver the kind of scent experience we want our customers to enjoy. The wax choice was not just about aesthetics, but also about performance. A candle can have the most beautiful fragrance in the world, but if the wax, wick, and vessel do not work together, the experience falls flat. The scent may not throw well. The candle may burn unevenly. The vessel may get too hot. The wax may tunnel. The flame may be too high or too weak. Every component has to work together. That is why candle development requires patience. Each fragrance behaves differently in wax. Some notes bloom quickly. Some soften. Some smell incredible out of the bottle but change once they are poured. Some are beautiful cold but too subtle when burning. Fragrance Testing: The Part You Don’t See Fragrance testing is one of the most important parts of product development, and it is also one of the least glamorous. Every detail, from fragrance complexity to vessel design and burn performance, was considered with the goal of creating a candle that reflects what makes luxury candles different. It involves a lot of waiting. You test fragrance oils on blotter strips. You compare them against the mood you’re trying to capture. You take notes. You revisit them hours later. You smell them again the next day. You narrow them down. You pour test candles. You let them cure. You trim the wick. You burn them. You record the flame behavior, melt pool, hot throw, cold throw, and overall performance. ..... Then, sometimes, you start all over. A scent may be beautiful in theory but not right for the brand. At Upsensed, we are testing for more than whether a scent smells “good.” We are testing for balance, atmosphere, performance, and emotional clarity. A fragrance has to answer the question: What moment does this belong to? If we cannot answer that clearly, it does not make the collection. Cold Throw vs. Hot Throw: Why Both Matter One of the biggest parts of candle testing is evaluating cold throw and hot throw. Cold throw is how the candle smells before it is lit. It is the first impression. It's what you notice when you open the lid, walk past it on a shelf, or hold it in your hands before the first burn. Hot throw is how the candle smells while it is burning. This is where performance really matters. A candle needs to fill a space in a way that feels present but not overpowering. For Upsensed, the goal is not fragrance that shouts. Our goal is fragrance that settles beautifully into the room. We want each candle to have a clear presence. You should be able to smell it and notice the shift in the space, but it should still feel refined, layered, and wearable for the home. Some candles are better suited for smaller rooms, like bedrooms, bathrooms, and reading corners. Others can hold their own in a living room or open space. These details matter, and they are part of what we pay attention to during testing. A luxury candle should look elevated and perform with intention from the first burn to the last. The Collection: A Range of Moods We are excited to share the inspiration behind the scent directions we’ve been developing. Each fragrance was created around a different emotional atmosphere. Together, they are meant to feel like a curated scent wardrobe for the home. Each one you can choose from depending on your mood, your space, or the ritual you are stepping into. Here is a closer look at the inspiration behind the scents in development. Nocturne: The Moodier Side of Luxury The Nocturne Signature Candle holds a special place in the first collection. With notes of plum, night florals, and warm woods, Nocturne was created to feel like evening in fragrance form. It is rich without being heavy, floral without being delicate, and warm without becoming too sweet. The inspiration behind Nocturne is that shift that happens when the day starts to dim, the lights get lower, you pour something into a glass, change out of the day, and let the evening take shape. Nocturne is sensual, has depth, and offers a little mystery. The plum gives it a dark, slightly juicy opening, night florals bring a quiet elegance, and warm woods ground everything to keep the scent from feeling overly sweet or overly floral. It is the candle for slow evenings, late-night conversations, baths, bedrooms, and moments when you want your space to feel intimate and composed. Nocturne represents one of the core ideas behind Upsensed: luxury does not have to be loud to be felt. Alto: Bright, Lifted, and Effortless The Alto Signature Candle is inspired by brightness, but not in a sharp or overly energetic way. With grapefruit, mint, and soft florals as its guiding notes, Alto is being developed as a scent that feels lifted, clean, and refreshing. It is the kind of fragrance that belongs to open windows, fresh starts, and that first moment when a room feels reset. The grapefruit brings clarity. It has that crisp, sparkling quality that immediately wakes up the senses. Mint adds a cooling green edge, making the fragrance feel fresh without becoming too herbal. Soft florals round it out, giving the scent a polished finish and preventing it from feeling too simple. The mood behind Alto is elevated ease. During testing, a scent like Alto has to strike a careful balance. Citrus can fade too quickly or become too sharp. Mint can dominate if it is not softened. Florals can make a fresh scent feel too perfumey if they are too prominent. The goal is to make every note feel integrated. Lignum: Warm, Grounded, and Textural The Lignum Signature Candle is inspired by wood, warmth, and strength. With palo santo, citrus zest, and cedarwood, this scent direction leans earthy and refined. It is being developed for those who love candles that feel grounding, architectural, and a little meditative. The name Lignum comes from the Latin word for wood, and that idea shaped the mood from the beginning. We wanted this fragrance to feel textured, not flat. Warm, but not overly smoky. Woody, but not too masculine or dry. Palo santo brings a soft, sacred warmth. Citrus zest adds lift and prevents the scent from becoming too dense. Cedarwood gives structure and depth, creating a base that feels steady and natural. The inspiration behind Lignum is the kind of quiet that feels strong. A room with wood tones, a slow morning, and a deep breath before beginning again. It embodies the feeling of being grounded in your own space. Woody scents can be tricky because they can easily become too heavy or too cologne-like. For Upsensed, the goal is to keep Lignum refined and atmospheric. It should feel like warmth rising through the room, not like a fragrance trying to dominate it. Lignum is for the person who wants their home to feel calm, intentional, and rooted. Moss: Green, Soft, and Earthy The Moss Signature Candle is inspired by the quieter side of nature. With oakmoss, amber, and soft citrus, this scent direction is earthy, fresh, and warm. It is being developed to feel like greenery after rain, a shaded path, or the peaceful stillness of a space that feels connected to the natural world. Oakmoss gives the fragrance its green, earthy character. Amber adds warmth and softness. Soft citrus brings a subtle brightness, keeping the scent from feeling too dense or too dark. The mood behind Moss is calm restoration. It is not a loud green scent. It is not sharp, grassy, or overly botanical. It is softer than that. More grounded. More atmospheric. Moss is meant to bring a sense of freshness into the home. It has the potential to work beautifully in living rooms, bathrooms, entryways, or anywhere you want the space to feel composed and gently renewed. During testing, we pay close attention to how the green notes behave in wax. Green fragrances can sometimes turn too sharp, too damp, or too soapy depending on the blend. The goal with Moss is to preserve the natural, earthy quality while keeping the overall scent elegant and wearable. It is nature-inspired, but still polished. Quietude: Softness as a Ritual The Quietude Signature Candle was developed around the feeling of stillness. With lavender, vanilla, and ambered musk, this scent direction is soft, comforting, and calming. The goal is not to create a typical lavender candle. We wanted something smoother, warmer, and more refined. Lavender can sometimes feel herbal, medicinal, or expected. In Quietude, the lavender is softened by vanilla and wrapped in ambered musk. The result is meant to feel less like a traditional spa candle and more like an evening ritual. The inspiration behind Quietude is the moment when you finally let the day be over. It is clean sheets, a warm bath, or a book you may or may not finish. This is a candle lit not for productivity, but for peace. Vanilla brings warmth and comfort, but it has to be balanced carefully so the scent does not become too sweet. Ambered musk adds depth and gives the fragrance a more elevated, skin-like finish. Together, these notes support the lavender in a way that feels gentle and modern. Quietude is being created for slow nights, restful routines, and spaces where softness is the point. It is a reminder that calm is not empty. Calm has texture, warmth, and can be luxurious. Intention: Sensual, Mindful, and Self-Assured The Intention Signature Candle is inspired by presence. With fig, pear, and musk, this scent direction is sensual, mindful, and self-assured. It has a softness to it, but it also has confidence. It is fruity without being playful, musky without being heavy, and fresh without feeling too bright. Fig is one of those notes that can feel both green and creamy. It has depth, but it also feels natural and elegant. Pear adds a juicy softness and a quiet freshness. Musk brings everything closer to the skin, giving the scent a more intimate finish. The mood behind Intention is about moving with clarity. It is the feeling of choosing your pace, your space, your energy, and your atmosphere on purpose. This scent is being developed for the rituals that help you come back to yourself: journaling, getting ready for the day, winding down after work, setting the tone for a new month, or simply lighting a candle because you want to feel more connected to the present moment. In testing, fruit-forward scents require a lot of restraint. Too much fruit can make a candle feel overly sweet or juvenile. Too much musk can flatten the brightness. The goal with Intention is to let the fig and pear feel elegant and rounded, while the musk creates a smooth, lasting base. It is a scent about softness with direction. Why Scent Curation Takes Time One of the most important things we’ve learned in developing this first collection is that scent curation cannot be rushed. A fragrance may make a beautiful first impression, but we need to know how it behaves over time. We need to smell it after it cures, burn it in different spaces, and test it during different times of day. We need to see whether we still love it after living with it. That last part matters. Candles are not smelled once. They are lived with. Testing helps us understand the full life of the candle. We look at how the fragrance opens, how it develops, how it fills the room, how it lingers, and whether it still feels aligned with the story behind it. We also look at the collection as a whole. Each scent needs to stand on its own, but the collection also needs to feel cohesive. The candles should feel like they belong to the same world, even if each one expresses a different mood. That means we are constantly asking: Does this scent add something meaningful to the collection? Does it feel distinct from the others? Does it reflect the Upsensed brand? Does it create a clear emotional experience? Would we want to light this in our own homes again and again? If the answer is not yes, it needs more work. Designing the Visual Identity Around the Scent Experience The look of the collection is also part of the product development process. For Upsensed, the labels are designed to feel minimal and elevated, but also expressive. Each candle has its own color story, giving the scent a visual identity without making the overall collection feel disconnected. The design is intentionally clean because we want the candle to feel beautiful in real homes. It should sit easily on a nightstand, coffee table, bathroom counter, desk, or shelf without competing with the space around it. The label design also reflects the mood of the brand: modern, sensory, warm, and refined. Each scent’s color direction is chosen to support the fragrance story. A deeper tone may suggest moodiness or warmth. A softer shade may suggest calm or intimacy. A green-based palette may hint at earthiness and restoration. These choices are subtle, but they matter. A candle is a sensory object before it is ever lit. The way it looks, feels, and reads in your space becomes part of the experience. For us, packaging is not just decoration. It is the first layer of the ritual. Product Development Is a Series of Small Decisions A finished candle may look simple, but it carries dozens of decisions inside it. The fragrance oil percentage, wax blend, wick series, vessel size, and cure time are all factors involved in releasing the final product. Every choice shapes the customer experience. For the first Upsensed candle collection, we are developing 11 oz candles designed to feel substantial, elevated, and intentional. The size gives the candle presence while still feeling versatile enough for everyday use. Each candle is hand poured in Houston, TX, which is an important part of the brand’s identity and process. Hand pouring keeps us close to the product. It allows us to notice the details: how the wax sets, how the tops finish, how each batch behaves, and how the final candle feels before it reaches someone’s home. There is care in that process. And for Upsensed, care is the point. The Bigger Vision Behind the First Collection This first candle collection is about introducing the Upsensed point of view. We believe fragrance should be more than an afterthought. It should be part of how you create atmosphere, mark transitions, and make your space feel like it belongs to you. Lighting a candle can be a small act, but small acts shape how we experience our days. A candle can help signal the end of work. It can make a bath feel more restorative. It can soften the mood before bed. It can make a Sunday reset feel complete. It can turn an ordinary room into a space that feels cared for. That is what we are building toward. The first Upsensed collection is designed to offer a range of emotional tones: bright, grounded, green, sensual, calm, and reflective. Each scent has its own identity, but they are all connected by the same intention: to help you create a home atmosphere that feels considered and deeply personal. What Comes Next As we continue developing the first collection, we will be sharing more behind-the-scenes moments: testing updates, fragrance inspiration, candle care education, studio notes, and packaging choices. For more behind-the-scenes stories, candle care tips, and fragrance inspiration, explore the Home Fragrance Journal. For now, we are still refining. Still testing. Still making sure every candle earns its place. When the collection finally launches, we want each scent to feel like it was made with patience, purpose, and a clear point of view. Nocturne has already stepped into the story. The others are still unfolding, and we cannot wait to share them with you when the time is right. Until then, consider this your first look behind the scent — into the testing, curation, and quiet obsession that goes into building a candle collection meant to be felt long after the flame is lit.

Why Upsensed Was Created: The Story Behind Our Luxury Home Fragrance Brand
There are some stories you tell because they sound beautiful, and then there are stories you tell because they are true. Upsensed came from the second kind. It did not begin as a polished brand concept, a product idea, or a perfectly planned business strategy. It began in a much quieter, more complicated place. It began with anxiety. With exhaustion. With the kind of stress that builds slowly until your body finally says what you have been trying to ignore. For as long as I can remember, I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks. Not the kind of anxiety that comes and goes before a big event or a hard conversation, but the kind that becomes part of the background noise of your life. The kind you learn to function around. The kind you convince yourself you can manage because you are still showing up, still working, still taking care of everyone else. My name is Mikayla, and I am the founder of Upsensed. I am also a labor and delivery nurse in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, and I have been a practicing nurse for 10 years. Nursing has been one of the greatest honors of my life. There is something incredibly sacred about being present when a baby takes their first breath, when a mother becomes a mother, and families are changed forever in a single moment. Labor and delivery is emotional, intimate, unpredictable, and beautiful.... but it is also high stress. It requires you to be calm when things move fast, focused when the room gets tense, and strong when someone else is afraid. You learn how to move through emergencies, how to anticipate what could go wrong, how to care deeply while keeping yourself steady enough to do the job. For years, I did just that. I showed up. I pushed through. I poured from myself over and over again because that is what nurses do. We care. We carry. We keep going. But eventually, the weight started showing up in ways I could not ignore. When Anxiety Becomes Something You Can’t Keep Pushing Through For a long time, I put off getting help. Looking back, I think part of me believed I should be able to handle it. I was a nurse. I knew what stress looked like. I knew what anxiety could do to the body. I had taken care of patients in some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives., but knowing something professionally and admitting it personally are two very different things. I had gotten used to living with anxiety. I knew the tight chest, the racing thoughts, the restlessness, the way my mind could turn one small worry into a full spiral. I knew the feeling of being physically present but mentally overwhelmed. I knew what it felt like to go home exhausted, not just from work, but from holding myself together all day. Still, I kept telling myself I was fine.... until I was not. I had a horrific panic attack that changed everything for me. It was one of those moments where your body takes over completely. Your mind is trying to make sense of what is happening, but your nervous system is already in full alarm. It is terrifying. It feels like losing control inside your own body. In that moment, I knew I could not keep pretending. I could not keep delaying my own care while spending my life caring for everyone else, and making my mental health something I would “get to later.” I could not keep treating survival like it was the same thing as wellness. That panic attack became a turning point. Not because everything was suddenly fixed, but because I finally understood that I needed help and support. I needed to take my mental health seriously. So I did. I started therapy, and that decision changed the direction of my life in ways I never expected. The Question That Started Everything During therapy, my therapist suggested that I find something I enjoyed doing that involved something I loved. It sounds simple, but at the time, it felt almost foreign. When you have spent years operating in survival mode, joy can start to feel unfamiliar. Rest can feel unproductive. Hobbies can feel like something you do only when everything else is handled, and everything else is never really handled, but I took the suggestion seriously. I started asking myself: What do I actually enjoy? What makes me feel grounded? What helps me feel like myself? The answer was candles. I have always loved candles. Not just for how they smell, but for what they do to a space. A candle can soften a room, mark the end of a long day, and make an ordinary moment feel intentional. It can become part of a ritual, even a small one. Lighting a candle has always felt like a signal to slow down. I started researching how to make candles. At first, it was curiosity. Then it became something I looked forward to and finally became something I needed. I began learning about waxes, wicks, vessels, fragrance loads, burn testing, scent throw, curing times, and all the tiny details that separate a candle that simply smells good from one that actually performs well. Candle making was far more technical than I expected, but I loved that about it. From Healing Hobby to Handmade Brand That is how Vibe & Glo began. My first brand baby. What started as a therapeutic outlet slowly became a brand. I spent the last two years learning, testing, failing, adjusting, and perfecting the craft. I poured candles, tested them, took notes, changed wicks, adjusted fragrance blends, tried again, and then tried again after that. There is a lot people do not see behind a candle. They do not see the test burns. The wax choices. The labels that did not feel quite right. The fragrance blends that almost worked but not enough. The late nights (mornings in my case) after a nursing shift, trying to get one detail right because “good enough” did not feel good enough. But all of that work mattered. Vibe & Glo gave me a place to create and gave me something that felt like mine during a season when I was learning how to come back to myself. It helped me rediscover joy in a very hands-on way. But over time, I started to feel like the brand I had built no longer told the full story. It represented the craft, but not the deeper reason behind it. It showed the candles, but not the why. And the why was everything. I did not start making candles just because I wanted to sell candles. I started making candles because I was trying to heal. I was trying to create something beautiful out of a season that had pushed me to my limit. Eventually, I knew it was time to reinvent the brand into something that reflects that truth more fully. That reinvention became Upsensed. Why the Name Upsensed Matters Upsensed is rooted in the idea that scent has the power to shift a moment. Not fix your life, erase anxiety, or replace therapy, support, medication, rest, or real mental health care, but shift a moment. A candle can become part of the way you come home to yourself. It can be there while you journal, pray, stretch, cry, clean, rest, shower, read, or sit quietly after a day that asked too much from you. It can hold space. It can help create an environment where you feel more grounded, more present, more aware of what you need. That is the heart of Upsensed. For a broader look at how this philosophy shapes our products, read Introducing Upsensed, where we share our approach to intentional home fragrance and sensory living. We create affordable luxury home fragrance with intention. Every scent, vessel, label, and detail is designed to feel elevated, but also emotionally connected. I want Upsensed candles to look beautiful in your home, but I also want them to mean something when you light them because scent is personal. Scent attaches itself to memory, seasons, and people. To versions of ourselves we are becoming or releasing. One fragrance can remind you of softness. Another can make you feel confident. Another can help you settle into stillness. Upsensed was created for those moments. Luxury, But With a Deeper Purpose When I think about luxury, I do not only think about price, packaging, or aesthetics, I think about care. Luxury is in the details. It is in the way something is made, the way it performs, the way it feels in your space, and the way it makes you feel while using it. For Upsensed, luxury means thoughtful fragrance blends, clean design, quality ingredients, and a candle experience that feels intentional from the first light to the final burn. If you’re wondering what makes a candle feel truly elevated, our guide to luxury candles vs regular candles explains how ingredients, fragrance quality, performance, and design all shape the experience. But luxury also means not being empty. I did not want to build a brand that only looked good, but a brand that stood for something. My own mental health journey is woven into the foundation of this business. Anxiety is part of my story. Panic attacks are part of my story. Therapy is part of my story. Learning how to care for myself after years of pushing through is part of my story. And I know I am not the only one. So many people are functioning through anxiety every day. Many people are delaying help because they think they should be able to manage it alone. People are overwhelmed, overstimulated, burned out, and still showing up because life does not pause just because your nervous system is tired. I see you. Not in a vague, inspirational way. In a real way. I know what it feels like to be capable and struggling at the same time. I know what it feels like to smile, work, care, create, and still feel like something inside you is unraveling. That is why Upsensed is more than home fragrance. It is a brand built from the belief that care should be part of everyday life. Not only when we are falling apart or when things get unbearable. But daily, intentionally, in small ways that help us reconnect with ourselves. Our Partnership With the Anxiety & Depression Association of America One of the most important parts of Upsensed is our mission to help spread mental health awareness and support access to mental health resources. That is why Upsensed donates 5% of proceeds through our partnership with the Anxiety & Depression Association of America. This matters deeply to me because seeking help changed my life. Therapy gave me language for what I was experiencing. It helped me stop minimizing my anxiety and helped me understand that needing support was not weakness. I also know that taking that first step can be hard. Sometimes people do not know where to start or they feel embarrassed. Sometimes they have spent so long being “the strong one” that admitting they need support feels impossible. Sometimes access itself is the barrier. While a candle cannot provide mental health care, a brand can use its platform to talk about mental health honestly, give back, and build a community that can make people feel less alone. A product can carry a purpose beyond itself. That is what I want Upsensed to do. Every purchase supports a larger mission. Every candle is connected to a story that began with struggle, but did not end there, and every scent is part of a brand that believes beauty and purpose can exist together. Reinventing the Brand Was Personal Rebranding from Vibe & Glo to Upsensed was not just a business decision, it was personal. It meant being honest about why I started and letting the brand grow into something more aligned with who I am, what I believe, and moving beyond simply creating candles to step into a mission that felt bigger, more vulnerable, and more true. That kind of shift is scary. It is easier to keep things surface-level and say “I make luxury candles,” and leave it there. It is much harder to say, “I make candles because anxiety forced me to reexamine my life and therapy helped me find my way back to something I loved. Creating became part of my healing. Because I want this brand to help someone else feel seen.” But that is the truth, and Upsensed deserves to be built on the truth. The new brand reflects everything I have learned over the past two years: the technical craft of candle making, the emotional power of scent, the importance of beautiful design, and the deeper purpose that was there from the beginning. What Upsensed Stands For Upsensed stands for intentional fragrance, emotional connection, mental health awareness, and the quiet rituals that help us feel steady in our own lives. It stands for luxury that is not cold or performative, but warm, thoughtful, and relatable. Our candles are created to become part of your atmosphere. I want Upsensed to feel elevated, yes, but more than that, I want it to feel real. Real enough for the woman lighting a candle after putting everyone else first all day. Real enough for the nurse, the mother, the entrepreneur, the overthinker, the caretaker, the high achiever, the soft-hearted person who has been carrying too much for too long. Real enough for anyone who needs a reminder that they are allowed to pause. This Is Only the Beginning Upsensed is preparing to officially launch on July 27, 2026. The first collection has been shaped with so much care, not only around how each candle smells, but around how each one feels. The scent notes, the names, the mood, the design, the packaging, the entire experience, every detail is being created with intention. This launch is not just the beginning of a new luxury home fragrance brand.... it is the beginning of a brand that was born from a very personal season of my life and carries my story, my healing, my craft, and my hope that something beautiful can come from the moments that nearly break us. I am still a nurse. I still have anxiety. I am still learning how to care for myself better, how to slow down, how to listen to my body, and how to choose support instead of silence. Upsensed does not come from a perfect story. It comes from a human one, and maybe that is why it means so much to me. This brand is proof that sometimes the thing that helps you heal becomes the thing you are meant to share. An Invitation to Be Part of the Story As we move closer to launch, I hope you will follow along. Not just for the candles, although I cannot wait for you to experience them, but for the story. For the conversations around scent, self-care, home, anxiety, rest, and what it means to build rituals that support the life you are trying to create. Thank you for being here at the beginning. Introducing Upsensed: A New Approach to Intentional Home Fragrance
There’s a difference between a home that looks beautiful and a home that feels beautiful.  Fragrance has the power to shape mood, shift energy, and turn everyday routines into experiences that feel more grounded, elevated, and intentional. A scent can soften the atmosphere after a long day, create a sense of calm during slow mornings, or completely change the emotional tone of a space without saying a word. That belief is what inspired the creation of Upsensed. We’re not here to create candles that simply smell good on a shelf. We’re building a modern home fragrance brand centered around atmosphere, emotion, and intentional living — products designed to become part of the way you move through your space and your daily rituals. This is the beginning of Upsensed: a new approach to intentional home fragrance. Why Home Fragrance Matters More Than Ever Home fragrance has evolved far beyond being a decorative finishing touch. Today, people are more intentional about the environments they create around themselves. The home is no longer just where we sleep... it’s where we work, recharge, host, rest, dream, and reconnect with ourselves. Because of that shift, the emotional experience of a space matters more than ever. The lighting matters. The textures matter. The music matters. And scent absolutely matters. Fragrance has a direct connection to memory and emotion. Certain notes can instantly transport you somewhere familiar, calm your nervous system, energize your mindset, or help signal transitions throughout the day. The right scent can make a room feel warmer, softer, cleaner, more luxurious, or more alive, yet so much of the home fragrance industry still focuses only on strong scents, trendy packaging, or seasonal novelty. At Upsensed, we wanted to approach fragrance differently. We wanted to create scents that support how you want to feel. That means building collections inspired by mood, atmosphere, energy, and intentional living rather than simply fragrance categories alone. Scent is personal, and the way your home feels should be personal too. The Meaning Behind Upsensed The name “Upsensed” represents elevation through the senses.  It reflects the idea that fragrance can shift the emotional experience of a space in subtle but powerful ways. A scent can lift the atmosphere of a room. It can change your mindset and can make ordinary moments feel more intentional. That’s the foundation of our brand. To understand the deeper reason behind the brand, read more about why Upsensed was created and the personal story that shaped our approach to fragrance, care, and intentional living. We create home fragrance products designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and create environments that feel aligned with the mood you want to cultivate. Not performative luxury, but intentional fragrance for intentional living. Every detail of the brand — from the scent development to the visual identity — was created with that philosophy in mind. Our approach blends modern minimalism with warmth, sensuality, softness, and emotional connection. We want Upsensed products to feel elevated without feeling untouchable.  The goal is simple: create fragrances that become part of the atmosphere people genuinely want to live in every day. A More Intentional Approach to Scent Many fragrance brands focus on what a scent smells like. We focus on what a scent feels like. When developing fragrances, we think beyond traditional scent descriptions and consider emotional tone, ambiance, and sensory experience. Instead of asking only whether a fragrance is floral, woody, sweet, or fresh, we ask questions like: What mood does this create? What type of energy belongs in this scent? What atmosphere does it leave behind in a room? How should someone feel while burning it? That intentionality changes the entire fragrance experience. A candle isn’t just a candle anymore, but part of a ritual. Lighting a fragrance while journaling at night feels different than lighting one during a productive workday. The scent you choose while hosting friends creates a completely different atmosphere than the one you burn during a slow Sunday morning. At Upsensed, we embrace those emotional layers. Our fragrances are designed to support moments of softness, confidence, calm, sensuality, reflection, creativity, and self-connection. The Rise of Luxury Home Fragrance Over the past several years, luxury home fragrance has become an essential part of modern lifestyle culture. Consumers are becoming more selective about the products they bring into their homes. People want elevated experiences, cleaner aesthetics, intentional routines, and products that align with how they want to feel. Candles are no longer just seasonal purchases or occasional gifts. They’ve become part of self-care rituals, interior styling, wellness routines, and everyday atmosphere building. But luxury today looks different than it once did. Modern consumers are moving away from overly flashy branding and toward experiences that feel refined, sensory-driven, and emotionally resonant. They want products that fit seamlessly into thoughtfully designed homes and intentional lifestyles. That shift is exactly where Upsensed exists.  We believe luxury home fragrance should feel immersive, calming, modern, and deeply connected to atmosphere. It should feel like: warm lighting at golden hour clean spaces that invite stillness soft music in the background quiet mornings before the day begins evenings that feel slow and restorative confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself loudly That emotional experience matters just as much as the fragrance itself. If you’re curious about what actually separates a premium candle from a standard one, our guide to luxury candles vs regular candles breaks down the differences in wax, fragrance quality, burn performance, and design. Designing Fragrance Around Mood and Atmosphere Every Upsensed scent begins with a feeling first. Before fragrance notes are finalized, we define the emotional atmosphere we want the scent to create. That mood becomes the foundation for the fragrance composition, visual direction, storytelling, and overall experience. This allows each scent to feel cohesive beyond the fragrance alone. Rather than creating fragrance solely around trends, we focus on emotional longevity:  scents people will continue reaching for because of how they make them feel in their everyday lives. This approach also encourages more intentional fragrance use within the home. Different moods belong in different moments: A calming scent for nighttime routines A fresh scent for resetting the space A warm scent for hosting A sensual scent for slow evenings A bright scent for creative energy Scent becomes a way to curate atmosphere intentionally throughout the day. That’s the experience we want Upsensed to bring into homes. Building a Sensory Lifestyle Brand While luxury candles are a core part of the Upsensed experience, our vision extends beyond a single product category. Upsensed is being built as a modern home fragrance and sensory lifestyle brand designed around intentional atmosphere. That includes products like: scented candles room sprays reed diffusers car diffusers fragrance layering experiences seasonal scent collections Each product is created to complement intentional living and sensory storytelling. We want every fragrance experience to feel cohesive across spaces and routines, whether someone is setting the tone in their living room, refreshing their workspace, elevating their car environment, or creating a calming nighttime ritual. The future of home fragrance is immersive, and Upsensed is being built with that future in mind. Clean Aesthetics, Elevated Atmosphere The visual experience of a product matters just as much as the fragrance itself. At Upsensed, we intentionally designed our brand aesthetic to feel modern, elevated, minimal, and emotionally warm. We wanted packaging and visuals that integrate naturally into beautifully curated spaces without feeling overly trendy or overdesigned. The goal is timeless atmosphere: neutral tones, soft contrast, warm textures, minimal clutter, and intentional design. We believe home fragrance should visually contribute to the environment just as much as it contributes through scent. The way a candle burns matters just as much as how it looks, which is why we also prioritize clean burning candles made with thoughtful wax blends and elevated fragrance formulations. The Emotional Side of Fragrance One of the most powerful things about fragrance is how deeply emotional it can be. A scent can remind you of a specific season of life.A memory.A person.A place.A feeling you haven’t experienced in years. That emotional connection is part of what makes fragrance so personal. We embrace that emotional dimension rather than treating fragrance as purely decorative or functional. We understand that people aren’t just buying candles or diffusers. They’re creating environments that help them elevate their daily life. That emotional connection is what turns fragrance into ritual, and ritual is where intentional living begins. Creating Everyday Rituals Through Scent Intentional living isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating moments throughout the day that feel aligned, grounding, and meaningful. Fragrance can become part of that process. Lighting a candle while making coffee in the morning can shift the energy of the day before it even begins. Refreshing a room spray after cleaning can make the space feel renewed rather than simply tidy. A warm evening fragrance can help create separation between work mode and rest mode. These small sensory rituals matter. They help create emotional transitions, moments of pause, and experiences that feel more connected to the present moment. Why We’re Launching Upsensed Now There has never been a more meaningful time to rethink the role fragrance plays in our lives and spaces. People are craving depth over excess. Consumers are becoming more intentional about what they purchase, how products make them feel, and the environments they create around themselves. We saw an opportunity to build a fragrance brand rooted in emotional experience, intentional atmosphere, and modern living rather than simply trends or mass-market fragrance culture. The goal isn’t to create products people burn once and forget, but to create scents people associate with moments, routines, emotions, and memories. That level of connection matters, and that’s what we’re building toward. Welcome to Upsensed Upsensed was created for people who care deeply about how their spaces feel. For people who romanticize slow mornings, light candles while cleaning, and understand that scent can completely transform the emotional tone of a room. This is just the beginning. As we prepare for launch, we’re excited to continue sharing the vision behind Upsensed, the inspiration behind our fragrances, and the intentional philosophy guiding every collection we create.
